Email Client Configuration Print

To configure your Soularc-hosted email account, please follow the instructions corresponding to your device and mail client below:

 

Adding Account to Mail on Windows

Please note that this is different to the Outlook app on Windows.

  1. Open Mail on Windows
  2. Click the settings cog in the lower-left corner
  3. Select 'Manage Accounts'
  4. Click 'Add account'
  5. Select 'Other account (POP/IMAP)'
  6. Enter your Soularc-hosted email address and password
  7. Select 'Sign in'
  8. Select 'Done'

If prompted for more 'Internet email account' information, please use the following settings:

  • Server Type: IMAP/SMTP
  • User name: your Soularc-hosted email address
  • Password (for both IMAP and SMTP): your Soularc-hosted email password
  • IMAP/Incoming Mail Server: mail.soularc.net (if prompted for port, use 993)
  • SMTP/Outgoing Mail Server: mail.soularc.net (if prompted for port, use 465)
  • Encryption: SSL for incoming and outgoing mail
  • Authentication: required for incoming and outgoing mail
  • IMAP and SMTP (Incoming and Outgoing) credentials are identical

 

Adding Account to Outlook on Windows

Please note that this is different to the Mail app on Windows.

  1. Open Outlook on Windows
  2. Click ‘File’
  3. Under Info, click ‘Add Account’
  4. Enter your Soularc-hosted email address
  5. Enter your Soularc-hosted email password
  6. Click ‘Connect’

If prompted for ‘Advanced setup’ after completing steps 1-4:

  1. Select ‘IMAP’
  2. Enter the following details:
  3. Ensure the following settings are setup under the IMAP Incoming Email Server header:
    • IMAP Host Name: mail.soularc.net
    • Port: 993
    • Security type: SSL/TLS
    • IMAP Username: your Soularc-hosted email address
    • IMAP Password: your Soularc-hosted email password
  4. Ensure the following settings are setup under the SMTP Outgoing Email Server header:
    • SMTP Host Name: mail.soularc.net
    • Port: 465
    • Security type: SSL/TLS
    • SMTP Username: your Soularc-hosted email address
    • SMTP Password: your Soularc-hosted email password
  5. Click Next

 

Adding Account to Mail on macOS

Please note that this is different to the Outlook app on macOS.

  1. On your Mac, open System Preferences
  2. Click Internet Accounts
  3. Click Add Other Account...
  4. Select Add a Mail account and click Create
  5. Complete the full name, full email address and password fields using your Soularc-hosted email address and password
  6. Click Create.
  7. If a message appears saying "Account must be manually configured" click 'Next' and follow steps 8-13, otherwise Mail setup is now complete.
  8. For the Incoming Mail Server Info, select the IMAP for account type.
  9. Complete the required fields: 
    • Mail Server: mail.soularc.net
    • User Name: your Soularc-hosted email address
    • Password: your Soularc-hosted email password
  10. Click Next.
  11. For the Outgoing Mail Server Info, complete in the required fields:
    • Mail Server: mail.soularc.net
    • User Name: your Soularc-hosted email address
    • Password: your Soularc-hosted email password
  12. Click Create.
  13. Your account is now created and you'll see an account summary page.

 

Adding Account to Outlook on macOS

Please note that this is different to the Mail app on macOS.

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Click on ‘Tools’ in the menubar, then ‘Accounts…’
  3. Click on the + icon in the lower left-hand corner, then click ‘New Account…’
  4. Enter your email in the email field and click ‘Continue’.

If you receive an error that states ‘Sorry! We couldn’t find a match’:

  1. Ensure that ‘Sync with Microsoft Cloud’ is not selected, then click IMAP
  2. Ensure that the type selected is ‘IMAP’
  3. Ensure that the Email Address and Username fields are set to your email
  4. Set the password field to the password you set earlier today.
  5. Set the Incoming Server field to mail.soularc.net with port 993, and the ‘Use SSL to connect’ option selected from the dropdown.
  6. Set the Outgoing Server field to mail.soularc.net with port 465, and the ‘Use SSL to connect’ option selected from the dropdown.
  7. Click ‘Add Account’
  8. Click ‘Done’

 

Adding Account to Mobile Outlook (iOS/Android)

  1. Open outlook mobile, open the left sidebar, and tap on the settings (cog) icon
  2. Tap ADD EMAIL ACCOUNT under the Email accounts header
  3. Tap Add an email account from the popup
  4. Enter your email address and tap Continue
  5. Select IMAP from the popup
  6. Enter your email password, account name (your name), and description (your business name)
  7. Click the checkmark to add the account

If the above steps do not work to add the account, then please complete steps 1 through 6 then complete the following:

  1. Enable ADVANCED SETTINGS via the toggle switch
  2. Ensure the following settings are setup under the IMAP Incoming Email Server header:
    • IMAP Host Name: mail.soularc.net
    • Port: 993
    • Security type: SSL/TLS
    • IMAP Username: your Soularc-hosted email address
    • IMAP Password: your Soularc-hosted email password
  3. Ensure the following settings are setup under the SMTP Outgoing Email Server header:
    • SMTP Host Name: mail.soularc.net
    • Port: 465
    • Security type: SSL/TLS
    • SMTP Username: your Soularc-hosted email address
    • SMTP Password: your Soularc-hosted email password

 

Other Email Clients

Please use the following settings to configure all other email clients:

  • Server Type: IMAP/SMTP
  • User name: your Soularc-hosted email address
  • Password (for both IMAP and SMTP): your Soularc-hosted email password
  • IMAP/Incoming Mail Server: mail.soularc.net (if prompted for port, use 993)
  • SMTP/Outgoing Mail Server: mail.soularc.net (if prompted for port, use 465)
  • Encryption: SSL for incoming and outgoing mail
  • Authentication: required for incoming and outgoing mail
  • IMAP and SMTP (Incoming and Outgoing) credentials are identical
